Dimitrios P. Nikolelis received his PhD from University of Athens in 1976 and he is a professor of environmental chemistry in Department of Chemistry, University of Athens. Prof. Dimitrios Nikolelis has coordinated 3 European Projects on environmental biosensors (CIPA96-0231, IC15-CT96-0804 and QLK3-2000-01311). He also was twice a. NATO Director in the following Advanced Research Workshops: 1. Biosensors for Direct Monitoring of Environmental Pollutants in Field, Smolenice, Slovakia,: May 1996 and 2. Portable biosensors for the Rapid Detection of Biochemical Weapons of Terrorism, July 2012. Prof. Dimitrios Nikolelis has over 200 scientific papers in scientific journals and conferences. He is the Editor of 5 books on Biosensors (1. Biosensors for Direct Monitoring of Environmental Pollutants in Field, Springer, 1996, 2. Portable Chemical Sensors- Weapons against Bioterrorism, Springer, 2012 and 3. Portable Biosensing of Food Toxicants and Environmental Pollutants, CRC, 2013 3. 4. Biosensors for Security and Bioterrorism Applications, Springer, 2014. 5. Nanotechology and biosensors: recent advances, Elsevier, in press. He is the Editor of many scientific journals. His research is targeted on the fabrication of portable biosensors for in the field uses and he has authored a large number of scientific papers on the detection of environmental pollutants such as hydrazines, dioxins, insecticides, toxins, etc. His current interests also include the construction of novel chemical nanosensors that can be used for the rapid detection of environmental pollutants directly in the gas phase. Prof. D. P. Nikolelis group has recently utilized graphene and ZnO to develop chemical nanosensors based on polymer lipid films for species of clinical or food significance such as urea, uric acid, cholesterol, etc. In progress, there is the evaluation and validation of nanosensors that are based on stabilized polymerized lipid films supported on glass fiber filters using a dry spot test using optical methods of analysis (i.e., fluorescence) to detect environmental pollutants such as insecticides, plant hormones, toxins, hydrazines, etc.

Magdalena Valentina LUNGU is the Head of Multifunctional Metallic Materials Laboratory in National Institute for Research and Development in Electrical Engineering ICPE-CA (INCDIE ICPE - CA) Bucharest, Romania. Her research experience, Senior Researcher, CS I, PhD in Materials Science and Engineering from 2008. Publications includes 124 articles, including 26 ISI articles, 15 ISI Proceedings articles, 14 articles in journals indexed in international databases, over 75 communicated papers; 2 books, 1 chapter in a book, 9 RO patents granted by the State Office for Inventions and Trademarks (OSIM), 9 RO patent applications at OSIM; awards: 40; 320 citations & h-index: 7 in Google Scholar; 192citations & h-index: 5 in Scopus; 212 citations & h-index: 5 in Research Gate, RG Score: 21.71; 161 citations & h-index: 5 in Web of Science. She acted as a Committee Member in several International conferences and as a Board Members for many reputed journals.

Her research areas include materials science and engineering, electrical contact materials, micro/nanocomposites, multifunctional metallic materials, thin films, surface engineering, antimicrobial applications.

Ghazi Ozair has 40 years of practical experience in Power and Desalination industry. He has completed his M.S. + Research Experience (Ph.D. program) at Aligarh Muslim University, India. Ozair joined SWCC’s Al-Aziziah Power & Desalination Plant, Al-Khobar Phase-I in July 1979, then transferred to Phase-II in 1982 and served in various capacities until June 1993. Mr. Ozair joined SWCC’s Saline Water Desalination Research Institute in June 1993 and served until June 2009 as Head of Research & Planning Dept. After serving SWCC for a tenure of 30 years, he joined IWPPs (i.e., The First National Operation & Maintenance Company LLC (NOMAC) in July 2009 as Corporate Senior Technical Manager and served until May 2012. Then he joined Power & Water Utility Company (Marafiq), Yanbu, in July 2012 where he continues to serve till date. Mr. Ozair has also been involved in various Research Projects, O&M, Plant Design & Studies, Erection & Commissioning of various Desalination Plants, Environmental & Ecological Impacts Assessment, etc. There are over 60 Scientific and Technical contributions to his credit.

Enos Masheija Rwantale Kiremire, Formerly Professor, Chemistry, University of Namibia has completed his BSc (Hons) degree majoring in Chemistry from ,University of East Africa. He completed his PhD in Inorganic Chemistry, University of New Brunswick, Frederickton, Canada, March 1977 as a Commonwealth Scholar. Lectureship, University of Zambia, Zambia, August 1977 to Associate Professorship until January 2001. Nuffield Foundation Fellow, University of Sussex, United Kingdom in 1981. Visiting Lecturer, University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, USA, 1991. Visiting professorship at the University of Witwatersrand, South Africa, 1998. Professorship, University of Namibia, Namibia, Senior Lecturer/Associate Professor/ Full Professor, Dean, Faculty of Science, February 2001-June 2017. His publications includesmore than 60 publications, 7 patents on bioactive compounds against malaria parasites (mentioned by WIPO) and book recently published by Lambert, Germany: -A New Approach to Cluster Theory(ISBN 978-620-2)

Since 2006, Plato A. Magriotis, Ph.D., is an Associate Professor of Medicinal Chemistry in the Department of Pharmacy at the University of Patras in Greece and a Research Affiliate with the Department of Chemistry at New York University. Magriotis received his Ph.D. in Chemical Biology with Professor Francis Johnson at Stony Brook University in 1983 and did Postdoctoral work at Harvard University with Nobel Laureate Professor E. J. Corey. His career started at West Virginia University and continued at Merck & Co. as well as New York University in the U.S., prior to his return to Greece.

Magriotis’ research program focuses on the development of new methodology for the synthesis of relevant pharmacophores applied in drug discovery.

Mirosław Kwiatkowski in 2004 obtained Ph.D. degree from the Faculty of Energy and Fuels at the AGH University of Science and Technology in Kraków (Poland), and in 2018 D.Sc. degree from the Faculty of Chemistry at the Wrocław University of Technology (Poland) in the discipline: chemical technology. In addition, he obtained a certificate of completion of postgraduate studies: Professional Research and Development Project Manager at the Krakow University of Agriculture (Poland), Research and Development Project Manager at the University of Economics and Innovation in Lublin (Poland), and Electrical Energy Markets from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Automatics, Computer Science and Biomedical Engineering at the AGH University of Science and Technology in Krakow (Poland). Currently Dr. Mirosław Kwiatkowski is working an assistant professor at the AGH University of Science and Technology, at the Faculty of Energy and Fuels. His published work includes more than 45 papers in reputable international journals and 80 conference proceedings. He is the editor in chief of The International Journal of System Modeling and Simulation (United Arab Emirates), an associate editor of Micro & Nano Letters Journal (United Kingdom) and a member of the many editorial board of internationals journals as well as a member of the organizing and scientific committees many international conferences in Europe, Asia and United States of America. Dr. Mirosław Kwiatkowski is also a regular reviewer in a most reputable scientific journals.

Raghd Muhi Al-Deen Jassim is the Manager of Metallurgy department at State Company for Mining Industries that deals with all types of metallurgical processes like wet metallurgy, sediment processes, extraction from solutions, metal powdering, mineral powdering, Pyrometallurgy, Crushing and grinding processes, dipping in molten metals, materials science and technology, project design and establishing, electrochemical processes, molten metal and alloy atomization, Arc furnace products.He has been the Senior Chemical Engineer at State Company for Mining Industries in 2012 also been the pyrometallurgy department manager in 2006.During 2000-2003 he has been the Department manager at Aluminium powder production.

Seema P Mengshetti received her B.S. and M.S. degree in chemistry from the Department of Chemistry, Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University, Aurangabad, Maharashtra, India in 2002 and 2004 respectively. She completed her Ph.D. in 2013 in the group of Dr. Vaijayanti Kumar, Organic Chemistry Division, National Chemical Laboratory, Pune, Maharashtra. Her thesis focused on synthesis and biophysical properties of Nucleic acid analogues bearing 5-atom achiral amide- and chiral D/L-amino acid-derived linkages, as well as Nucleic acid analogues bearing 4’-modified nucleosides for their potential therapeutic application in the field of antisense drug strategy. After completion of her PhD, she worked as a Research Associate in the same group of Dr. Vaijayanti Kumar. Currently, Dr. Seema works at Laboratory of Biochemical Pharmacology, Emory University School of Medicines, Atlanta USA. She is a member of the American Chemical Society (ACS), Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC), The International Society of Nucleosides, Nucleotides and Nucleic acid (IS3NA), International Society for Antiviral Research (ISAR), Indian Society of Chemist and Biologist (ISCB), and Chemical Research Society of India (CRSI).

Her research involves design and synthesis of nucleotides, nucleosides & corresponding phosphate analogs and/prodrugs for the treatment of HIV, HCV, HBV & other newly emerging viruses and nucleic acid analogs/mimics, oligonucleotides and their biophysical studies for their potential use as antisense drugs. She keeps her intellectual interests alive as an editorial board member for serval organic and medicinal chemistry journals. She also serves as a reviewer for many international journals (RSC, ELESVIER, Springer Open, ACS) spanning research areas; synthetic medicinal chemistry, nucleoside and nucleotide chemistry and biochemical sciences.

Dr. M. Zubair Iqbal, an Associate Research Professor at Ningbo Institute of Materials Technology & Engineering (NIMTE), Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), belong to Pakistan.I obtained my doctor degree in Experimental Condensed Matter Physics from University of Science and Technology Beijing, China and then joined Biomaterials research group under in Division of Functional Materials and Nano-Devices at NIMTE in July, 2013 as a Postdoc Research Fellow and mainly focus on research.I have been involved in fabrication of biomaterials for Magnetic Resonance Imaging, drug delivery and Cancer Therapeutic Applications. Ivano Aglietto is an Engineer with a PhD and has over 15 years of experience in nanotechnology and environmental engineering, including R&D and general management of small to middle size organizations. Currently he is the President and CEO at GrapheneUP, the largest producer of graphene based materials. Since 2000 he has lectured at several universities for Master's and specialist courses. He has participated as a speaker during 56 national and international conventions and conferences, primarily focusing on issues of water treatment, nanotechnology and contaminated sites remediation. Renato Toffanin received a Laurea degree in biological sciences from the University of Trieste (Italy) in 1984. In 1988, he joined the group of Annalaura Segre at the National Research Council (Rome) to work on the NMR spectroscopy of complex carbohydrates. From May 1989 to March 1993, he worked at POLY-biós (Trieste) on the structure and conformation of oligo- and polysaccharides using high-resolution NMR techniques and molecular simulations. From April 1993 to June 1997, he had a senior research position at POLY-tech (Trieste), an innovative start-up specialised in the chemistry and biochemistry of biopolymers for biomedical and pharmaceutical applications. From July 1997 to February 2005, he was responsible for the Laboratory of NMR Microscopy at the University of Trieste, promoting research in skeletal MRI and tissue engineering. Since March 2005, he has served as director of ARCHES - Advanced Research Centre for Health Environment and Space (Bari area), greatly expanding its level of funding and research.

His current interests include basic MRI, medicinal chemistry and natural products.

Mohamad J. Al-Jeboori is a Professor in Synthetic Inorganic Chemistry & Materials, Baghdad University, Iraq. He completed his B.sc in Chemistry; M.sc in Inorganic Chemistry and Ph.D. In Synthetic Inorganic Chemistry (1994 -1996), University of Baghdad. He supervised successfully 16 PhD and 42 MSc students. Research interests in biomedical, materials and polymer applications of coordination chemistry. His research interests cover all aspects of the preparation, structural characterisation, and physical properties (electrochemical, magnetic, optical and photophysical) of complexes based on transition-metal. Rabah Ali Khalil is a full Professor of Physical Chemistry in University of Mosul, College of Science, Chemistry Department. He completed his Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry at University of Mosul in 1994, his M. Phil. Degree in Inorganic Chemistry at University of Sheffield in 1990 and his B.Sc. in General Chemistry at University of Mosul as a1st among 128 students. He has published more than 27 papers in reputed journals, serving as an editorial board member of reputed journal, keynote speaker, TPC and OC member at many international conferences. Rashid Ur Rehman graduated from the COMSATS University, Lahore, Pakistan, with a First class B.S Chemical Engineering degree and he completed his Master in Philosophy (M.Phil.) in Chemical Engineering from the same institute. And then he joined Nanjing Tech University for his Philosophy Doctorate (Ph.D.) in Chemical Engineering. His research has been laying in the area of Membrane Technology especially focused on gas separation, fuel processing and their end products and their usage in industry and domestic scale. Having acquired a wealth of life experiences, which has provided him with many transferable key skills, Rashid's current research is focused in Natural gas processing, ethanol/water separation, wastewater engineering and treatment regarding the recovery of valuable chemicals and nutrients from complex effluent streams.

Salim Ismael Khaleel completed his Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Polymer Chemistry at the University of Birmingham.At present he is an Industrial Expert at Ministry of Industry and Minerals - IRAQ and Currently working as a member of the task force responsible for drafting the industrial strategy of Iraq for the next 15 years. Besa Mulaj is a Bachelor student at the Department of Chemistry – University of Prishtina “Hasan Prishtina”, Republic of Kosovo. She studies the third year of Chemical Engineering degree. By growing up and seeing the hard of the life, she understood the importance of hard work and patience. She applied these values to her endeavors and now she is working on her goals every single day. Also, her upbringing has completely supported her development as a person. She had published her work, and it includes most papers from Environmental Chemistry. Also, she had participated in many scientific conferences in Balkan. She works as a volunteer in Kosovo Volunteers Platform and with some other organizations. Her research involves and is targeted mostly on the Environmental Chemistry. Her interests are for the treatment and degradation of organic pollutants by using the Fenton process, a new technology that has started to be used a lot in chemistry science. She keeps working on her research area, trying to be productive and also help finding some fast and cheap solutions for destroying air pollutants.

Siham Lakrikh is a PhD student at the Sustainable Development Laboratory-University Sultan Moulay Slimane, Beni Mellal, Morocco. In addition she had a master’s degree on Chemoinformatics and Advanced Spectroscopic Analyzes. Her research focuses experimental and theoretical study (Gaussian software QSAR method) therapeutic molecules and that under the supervision of Dr. Ahmed Jouiati.
